It was around two and a half years ago that the Paignton Business Improvement District (BID) Business plan was put together. One of the highlights was the suggestion of a 'Paignton Safari' through the town. Matthew Clarke Chairman of the Paignton BID says: 'When I proposed this at the inaugural meeting I think a number of the audience thought we'd lost the plot. But after discussions with Pippa Craddock at Paignton Zoo and all the incredible work her and her team put in, the result has been an award winning event that tourists and residents will remember for many years to come.
In Victoria Street, the Paignton BID sponsored 'Flagged' who enjoyed himself so much over the summer he would really like to come home!'
A plea has now gone out to an individual or company who would be generous enough to bid for 'Flagged' to enable him to come 'home' to Paignton. The plan would be to promote the sponsor plus add a location map of the Zoo on the base to enable visitors to find the Zoo easily.
The auction takes place on Wednesday 6th November at 6.30pm at The Palace Theatre details to be found here. Should you be interested in having the opportunity of sponsoring Flagged's return please contact Paignton Zoo.
